Top dollar prices for middle of the road food preparation. I've had far better yellow perch and salmon that I have caught and prepared myself and I am not a great sportsman or cook by any stretch. Service was good though. 6 broiled oysters that were ok, 15 dollars. 4 sad little examples of perch fillets with a breading that overwhelmed the fish 17 dollars including unremarkable frys and coleslaw. Why not pan dress the perch and use a light corn breading?
MoreVery poor and slow service. We sat for over 10 minutes before anyone came to the table. We were one of only 5 tables in the place. It was a "timed" 45 minutes before we got our food. The food was mediocre at best. The best perch in town is at Bollocks, then Admiral Jacks and Captain Lou's. I do not think we will return.
MoreHad an amazing dinner consisting of several items: fresh oysters, mussels, and a dinner special (salmon with leeks and spinach). The salmon dish was one of my all time favorite dishes ever. The ambiance is intimate with a lot of sea/maritime details. Great spot to take a girl out on a date, or to have a corporate dinner. If you're driving through Michigan and are in the area, this is a great place to make your stop list.
MoreExellent food, the chef at the perch genuinely cares about the quality of the food he makes for the patrons of the establishment. Everything tastes great! The decor is a bit alarming considering the last time I went in there it was bright and sunny-and very trendy. Now, everything is black and white, which feels very stuffy. Honestly-the food is great, its worth it to go just for that!

MoreFirst time visiting and very disappointed. Took long time for appetizer then our food. We were told only one cook and no bartender. Poor management. After all that food was marginal. $13 for two fish tacos and chips. Luckily we were starving so ate and left. Service was poor as well. Not only our list anymore. π
MoreWe went on a Saturday for the $5 Burgers and Bloody Mary's. It was really, really good. Our waitress was very nice, very prompt and courteous. The burger was fantastic, the home made hand cut potato chips were excellent and the hand cut fries were great too! The Bloody Mary Bar had everything you could want in your drink even a low cal mix. The only negative is that I was sold on the Bacon being on the bar but when I walked up it was gone and the same person (the Host) said it was going to be at least an hour to re-stock. ..?? It was only 1pm so it was not really ok to be out of bacon but I did hear the waitress tell the people behind us that they were the reason the bacon was gone. Those people were there for a long, long, long time. I was there for a Happy Hour date with 3 friends recently as well and it was excellent!! The Chowder was best we've ever had! Ricky was very helpful to us picking out our drinks and choices.
MoreComing from Chicago, and stopped in. Great atmosphere, very relaxing. Had the Smoked Salmon Board - excellent and I'm a foodie. Service and food well above average. Would highly recommend!!
MoreWe went on a Sunday afternoon. Couldn't have been more than 8 customers.We researched the menu before we went in. The menu was not the same.First thing I asked for was the smoked white fish spread. Nope didn't have.I settled for the grilled chicken Caesar wrap and salad. Husband the deep fried yellow lake perch.I wish we would have watched the time it took to get out good. It took forever.My wrap was ok, but my husbands fish was so over fried.Waitress was not at all overly friendly.There are many other choices in South Haven. We will not be going back.
MoreHad the bouillabaisse, ate a piece of calamari and got a chunk of plastic in my mouth. Only comped the dish, if my child had choked on it i'm not sure they'd stay open. There should be better standards in this kitchen!
MoreFirst clue should have been how absolutely dead the place was. Next, how sweaty our server was from running around more than necessary. We got our drinks quickly, and the oyster selection was nice - and they were perfectly shucked! But it headed downhill from there. Anything coming out of the kitchen was a mess. Took them half an hour to produce potato skins appetizer, and they were overdone. Server himself told us to send it back for a remake. Then waited another twenty minutes for our entree - eventually had to cancel it and have our app packaged to go, because we didn't want to miss the sunset and had been waiting for food for nearly an hour. Horrible kitchen staff - they were fully staffed, were slow, and obviously just didn't care. In need of some serious overhaul.
MoreJust finished an incredible meal and we couldn't be happier or more full. Our servers Emily and Nicole were very attentive and personable. The spinach and artichoke dip was amazing. Then it just got better. We got there at 830 so not much of a wait but can totally understand it getting crowded. But it's worth it.
MoreThe service was excellent. Our waitress (Summer ) was very polite and accommodating. We got there after 4pm and the special for burgers and bloody for $5 was over. They set up the bloody Mary bar and gave us the $5.00 burgers. Very accommodating. We love perch and they gave us some to sample. It was excellent. Burgers were great, bloody mary's were great, clam chowder the best I've ever had, and perch is excellent. We' ve been here before and definitely will be back.

Good food right off the pier, and nice scenery when sitting on the patio. Reminds me of the old mom & pop diner. Priced accordingly.
MoreWe visited from out of town, so we relied on the online reviews/description. The place was described as swanky and had an extensive menu. Sounded like a great place for a date night. Wow, were we disappointed! It's a causal bar, menu was no where near what was described online, service was super slow and the food subpar. I sent my entree(beer batter perch back. NO flavor at all!!) My next entree, whiting, was better but not much. We wasted 2 hours of our time and $40 here. We should have left after we saw the difference in the menu from what was online. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!
